Things are happening. It’s exciting! Here are a few updates:
First, a progress report on my projects.
The audiobook for I Was Called Barabbas is actually 100% complete, and the audio files have all passed ACX’s (Audible’s) quality review process, but the cover needed to be updated, and we’re back in their frustratingly slow queue. Hopefully it will be available soon!
Book 2, Pillars of Barabbas, has really come together beautifully. I don’t think Draft 3 will take as long as originally anticipated, but we’ll see. I might be finished before Thanksgiving.
Servant of Helaman is a lot of fun to work on, but I’m taking the necessary time to work through the full story arc, the characters, and some of the messaging I want to emphasize. I’m about 10% of the way through based on an average word count, but I’m not sure how accurate that is yet. The nice part, of course, is that some of the major events are already laid out, since this is historical fiction also.
I’m anxious to begin working again on the sequel to Patriot Star, but I’m having to hold myself back on it in light of all the other work I’m doing, including …
Marketing – I enjoy the marketing aspect, though it can be time consuming. I recently engaged a publicist to get the gears turning. Her name is Nicole Ballengee, based in Chattanooga, TN, and she has been terrific to work with so far. By the way, Chattanooga is a beautiful area, though I can only say I’ve driven through it a few times.
We’re already generating some interest, and I just did my first pre-recorded interview (which is nice, because you can script and edit!) with Christian Family Radio in Bowling Green, KY. They’re also going to do a book giveaway for their listeners, for which I mailed them five signed copies.
More to come. Have a great weekend!
